P-unit last Sunday shot the video to the song “KarE” at the prestigious Galileo lounge. Rumour has it that the video cost approximately 200,oooKshs! Shot by Big Ideas Willie Owusu same director who works with the Crew and Nonini on his videos.

With the pace these guys have been coming at we are sure to expect a classic and creative music video “kama kawaida”. KarE is a bantu word meaning “a fly chick” then again it doubles up as a Tanzanian slang for the word Kali. Its off there debut album Wagenge Hao produced by Decimal records Musyoka!

The Trio is gonna be performing in Dubai for the first time ever on the 6th of August!

Kenyans For Change 2010 has officially been launched! A number of Artists have come together and under the umbrella of Kenyans for Change, they have united to record a song to urge the youth to read the proposed constitution then make an informed choice, dont let just anyone sway your decision rather let yourself be the decision maker when the time for the referendum comes. Led by Achieng Abura, Kenyans for Change, 2010 (K4C10) will be touring the country performing a series of concerts, the initial launch was held on 3rd July at KICC and by the numbers in attendance it was a definite success. To further enforce their stand the group launched their theme song dubbed “Amua” on Thursday, July 1 at The Alliance Francaise. The track features Sauti Sol, Juliani and Suzanna Owiyo while the video also features cameos of other personalities such as Nonini, Dennis Oliech amongst others. “Amua” The theme song for the referendum on August 4, for the Committee of Experts Civic Education Campaign. JISOMEE…..JIAMULIE….JICHAGULIE!

K’Naan on The Mo’Nique Show

I Personally met K’Naan when he came to Nairobi to shoot his video in Eastleigh for the song Sober! Actually me,mahatma and juacali were in mombasa for a concert and it happened by coincidence we were staying at the same hotel. He was a really cool humble guy,most peeps wount believe this but we went to a concert in Malindi that i was performing at around mid-night (Those days we used to do those double double shows,(1 in the north coast the other malindi before 2am). KNaan decided to join us and he told us his story and how he is trying to make it in the US plus we exclusively heard his 1st album,my favourite track was smile the version he did on tupacs beat. Proud of this guy totally…dreams do come true!

K’Naan visited Mo’Nique before his next stop in South Africa to perform “Wavin’ Flag.” Rarely has an international act performed on BET’s late night show, much less do they wear the fuzzy Cossack hats, so it was extra special to have the Somali-born MC represent this refreshing episode.

The video was shot at the famous Tribe Hotel which was among the top 100 hotels recognised as the best in the World by Conde Nast Traveller.

This was recorded in 2007 when me and juacali first toured Australia. Maleek a gud friend hijacked us one evening mpaka studio,said he had a crazy beat. We went listened and started writting down the verses. Actually the song was recorded with a different beat even Talia wasnt in the song. Then Maleek brought it back to Shazy who did the crazy instrumental and got Talia to sing the hook. I first had it on radiom and was blown away! To be honest after Walietuacha….this the realest verse ive ever wrote!
