K’Naan on The Mo’Nique Show
I Personally met K’Naan when he came to Nairobi to shoot his video in Eastleigh for the song Sober! Actually me,mahatma and juacali were in mombasa for a concert and it happened by coincidence we were staying at the same hotel. He was a really cool humble guy,most peeps wount believe this but we went to a concert in Malindi that i was performing at around mid-night (Those days we used to do those double double shows,(1 in the north coast the other malindi before 2am). KNaan decided to join us and he told us his story and how he is trying to make it in the US plus we exclusively heard his 1st album,my favourite track was smile the version he did on tupacs beat. Proud of this guy totally…dreams do come true!
K’Naan visited Mo’Nique before his next stop in South Africa to perform “Wavin’ Flag.” Rarely has an international act performed on BET’s late night show, much less do they wear the fuzzy Cossack hats, so it was extra special to have the Somali-born MC represent this refreshing episode.
